Burmese Embassy protest, NYC, October 1, 2007

Street scene:
Monday, 01 October 07,  lunchtime, 12:30-1pm, 10 East 77th Street, New York City

Prob ’bout 300-400 people sat down outside the Burmese embassy in Manhattan, for a half-hour meditation and some slogan chanting organized by Amnesty International. Probably a few hundred more were at the UN at 1pm.

Thousands more had been outside in the streets in Rangoon in the last 24 hours, being shot, murdered, and terrorized by Burmese soldiers.

Just for wanting to do what we can do at lunch, anytime we want.

“Yo, Burma, eat this!” was unfortunately NOT one of the lunchtime chants.

  1. For the sake of our dear suffering Burmese brothers and sisters over there in Southeast Asia in particular our sister Suu Kyi this brother here will most certainly take part in the earthy emassy protests against a bunch of cold calculated Negros bastard generals who have about themselves. Backwards never forwards ever!

Backwards never forwards ever!
